چکیده
We report on the dynamics of photodegradation and subsequent recovery of two-photon fluorescence in a dye-doped polymer. The energy dependence suggests that photodegradation is a linear process, while recovery is entropic. Such recovery could be useful to high-intensity devices such as two-photon absorbers, which can be used in many applications.

Random Lasing and Reversible Photodegradation in Disperse Orange 11 Dye-Doped PMMA with Dispersed ZrO2 Nanoparticles
We report the observation of intensity feedback random lasing at 645 nm in Disperse Orange 11 dye-doped PMMA (DO11/PMMA) with dispersed ZrO2 nanoparticles (NPs). The lasing threshold is found to increase with concentration, with the lasing threshold for 0.1 wt% being 75.8 ± 9.4 MW/cm and the lasing threshold for 0.5 wt% being 121.1 ± 2.1 MW/cm, with the linewidth for both concentrations found t...
متن کاملMechanisms of reversible photodegradation in disperse orange 11 dye doped in PMMA polymer.
We use amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) and linear absorption spectroscopy to study the mechanisms of reversible photodegradation of 1-amino-2-methylanthraquinone (disperse orange 11-DO11) in solid poly(methyl methacrylate). Measurements as a function of intensity, concentration, and time suggest that ASE originates in a state (be it a tautomer or a vibronic level) that can form a dimer or ...
متن کاملSide illumination fluorescence emission characteristics from a dye doped polymer optical fiber under two-photon excitation.
Two-photon excited (TPE) side illumination fluorescence studies in a Rh6G-RhB dye mixture doped polymer optical fiber (POF) and the effect of energy transfer on the attenuation coefficient is reported. The dye doped POF is pumped sideways using 800 nm, 70 fs laser pulses from a Ti:sapphire laser, and the TPE fluorescence emission is collected from the end of the fiber for different propagation ...
متن کاملEnhancement of 2-photon absorption of a dye in a polymer microsphere based on an optical cavity effect.
We examined optical cavity effects on the 2-photon absorption efficiency of a dye (Rohdamine B; RhB) doped in polymer microspheres (ion-exchanging resin and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)). When 1064 nm pulsed-laser light was irradiated on single polymer microspheres doped with RhB under an optical microscope, we clearly observed dye fluorescence from individual microspheres, although the dye...
متن کاملThird Order Optical Nonlinearities and Spectral Characteristics of Methylene Blue
We have investigated third order nonlinear optical properties and spectral characteristics of methylene blue dye in both polymer and liquid mixtures. The spectral characteristics of the dye is studied by recording the absorption and fluorescence spectra of the dye doped in poly(methylmethacrylate) modified with additive n-butyl acetate(nBA) and the dye in MMA and nBA (liquid mixture). The spect...
